EPS resin is converted into polystyrene foam in three steps. In the pre-expanded stage, the expandable beads are converted into expanded beads. The second stage is timing for the completion of expansion, so called maturation stage. The third stage is the molding and shaping of the expanded beads.
When EPS burns, it produces carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and soot. But there are no toxic gases in the EPS.

Due to the flame-retardants additive to the products, the Vercell production pass the necessary standards in terms of fire hazards such as DIN4102 B1, EN ISO 11925-2/ EN 13 501 E. Please contact with us for details and certifications.
The moisture content of Vercell regular EPS is less than 0.4% and for Vercell Flame retardant EPS productions this value is less than 1%.
